I have been in the childcare industry for 25 years and consider myself a “trial and error” provider. I’ve learned many things on this journey, most of them being “what not to do, or what I don't want in or for my business. Many lifelong family connections have been made during the years and I’m forever grateful to all of the children that I have had the pleasure of coming across.
I opened my first childcare center in 1998 in public housing. In less than one year I purchased my first home and became licensed in a matter of 18 days. I started with friends and family and two employees. I always had a dream of owning my own school one day and being the principal. GOD superseded that and made me the CEO.
Now I had the audacity to beat all odds, to defy statics, yes me Angela, a little black girl from the projects, a teen parent now paving the way for others all while building an empire.
I am an academician by nature so every lesson has been a blessing and a step up mentally, physically, spiritually or financially. I take nothing for granted and believe that regardless of the outcome Romans 8:28 is working for me and my motto is “It’s Quite Alright”.
I dedicated this to everyone that counted me out and those that don’t believe in manifestation. This is a true testament of seeing what you say and producing what you prayed. I got a seed in the ground, now let’s get to watering so we can grow.
I dedicate this to my grandchildren Kesaad, Talan, Kamille, Jae’Lynn, Kuron Jr., and Rylen. I pray that you will always remember 1John 4:4 “ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. I love you today, tomorrow, and forever, go and be “Great”.
